All parents of Day School students are members of the Parents Committee. This group is organized primarily to host events and to organize activities that do three things:
1. Raise funds for things that benefit the school directly, such as playground improvements, special classroom supplies, etc.;
2. Promote a sense of community at the Day School; and
3. Provide community service.

The following is a description of some of the fun and entertaining events sponsored by the Day School Parents Committee
Scholastic Book Fair
The Book Fair, which happens at the beginning of the school year, is a great opportunity to purchase books for own family or for the St. Aidan’s classrooms and library. A percentage of the proceeds are donated to St. Aidan’s and are also used for library purchases. This is a great way to encourage our children’s love of reading while also raising money for the school!
Oktoberfest is not to be missed! The Church and the Day School team up to organize a fun-filled afternoon fest complete with Oompah band, traditional food & beer, and silent auction and live auctions. The Day School is primarily responsible for organizing the Kinderfest portion of the event, which includes a wide variety of great games, crafts and activities for the kids to enjoy. Some annual favorites are the bake sale, cake walk, face painting, pumpkin decorating, moon bounce as well as many more crafts & games. You won’t want to miss it! Bring the whole family!
The Silent Auction is an exciting part of Oktoberfest. Offerings in the past have included vacation getaways, certificates for dining at wonderful local eateries, and original artwork by members of the St. Aidan’s community. Highlights of the auction are always the themed baskets donated by each St. Aidan’s Day School class!
The St. Aidan's Day School Holiday Marketplace is our twist on the traditional "craft fair" concept. The Marketplace provides an opportunity for local businesses (which have included several Day School families) to showcase their products and services, including everything from unique, handcrafted art and accessories to handpicked clothing and toys. In addition, the Marketplace usually includes representatives from local businesses providing services from party-planning, photography, fitness, and more. The event is free to attend and offers a great opportunity for families to shop and socialize. Proceeds from the event, which include the rental fees collected from vendors, go directly to the Parents’ Committee.
Santa’s Workshop is a fun, activity-filled holiday event for the entire family. This event, which is held in early December, features breakfast, holiday music, crafts for the kids, professional quality photos with Santa and a raffle drawing for great prizes including tuition vouchers!
Just for fun
Family Fun Night
Family Fun Night is a St. Aidan’s tradition!! St. Aidan’s families gather on a Friday evening in late winter or early spring to enjoy entertainment and light refreshments. Each year, the Parents’ Committee invites a new and exciting entertainer to perform for the children and their families.
St. Aidan’s Olympics
The Olympics is a great opportunity for the children and their siblings and/or friends to participate in a variety of outdoor games and events in fun, non-competitive spirit. Everyone is a winner at this event, which includes opening ceremonies, pizza and drinks, and medals for all! And, it’s free!
Ice Cream Social/Art Show
The Ice Cream Social and Art Show is a non-fundraising family-friendly event held in the spring. Everyone is invited on an early Friday evening to enjoy ice cream sundaes in White Hall and view the students' artwork throughout the classroom halls. The teachers are usually on hand to scoop out heaping portions of ice cream while the families are able to mingle and socialize. Crafts and/or activities are also present. In addition, students entering St. Aidan’s the following school year are invited to join with their families, so be sure to give them a big welcome while you are here!
For a good cause
St. Aidan's Giving Tree allows St. Aidan’s families the opportunity to make a difference and to grant special wishes for certain children in our community. The Parents’ Committee partners with our neighboring elementary school, Stratford Landing, through their annual Holiday Care and Share Program to donate gifts to children who are facing situations of significant need. What a great way for our preschoolers to experience the joy of giving!
Heart to Heart
Every winter or spring, families have the opportunity to help the Parents’ Committee in its mission of community service. Each year the Parents’ Committee selects a charity for its community-wide Heart-to-Heart program. This past year, families generously donated items for special “goodnight kits” to provide to homeless children in our community in conjunction with Project Night Night.
