Worship and Music

 Sunday Services

8:30 a.m.       Holy Eucharist Rite II    This is a contemporary language Communion service that is very child-friendly.  The service usually includes an opening hymn and then a closing song where children (and many adults) accompany the music with rhythm instruments, shakers and bells.  At this service the congregation stands around the altar for the Eucharistic Prayer.

10:30 a.m.     Holy Eucharist Rite II    This is also a contemporary language service with more hymns and a choir supporting the music except in the Summer.

6:00 p.m.       Holy Eucharist Rite II    This is our most informal service.  We sit through the liturgy of the Word and the sermon is usually a discussion of one of the readings for the day.

Children are always welcome in church at St. Aidan's.  We have clipboards with activities focused on the readings or theme of the day for three different age groups.  We want children to never remember a time when they were not welcome as a part of the faith community.  Christian Education takes place between the two morning services so children and teachers can attend services.

Special Services

Throughout the year we also have many services outside our regular Sunday services, including multiple services on Ash Wednesday and during Holy Week, and on other Christian feast days like Epiphany and Ascension.  We have also created many creative and interactive liturgies aimed especially at families, including a Kids' Ash Wednesday service and a Family Holy Week service that walks through the events of Jesus' last week and includes a "Last Supper" and footwashing for the kids.  And if you have pets, don't let your furry/scaly/feathered friend miss our annual outdoor Pet Blessing.
