At St. Aidan’s, worship is what happens when our congregation gathers at God’s table. We are a Eucharistic community, meaning not only that we have communion at all Sunday services, but also that in worship we offer ourselves: we are opened, blessed and sent back into the world as agents of God’s grace. Worship is the center of our life in Christ.

At 8:30 a.m. each Sunday, we offer a simple service with a homily and Communion. At this service, everyone gathers around the altar for the Eucharistic prayer. The service includes a few simple hymns accompanied by the guitar, and during the final hymn children are invited to join in on assorted musical instruments. This service lasts about 45 minutes.
At 10:30 a.m., we celebrate the Eucharist with hymns and a choir. Although a nursery is available for the very young, at St. Aidan's, all children are welcome and encouraged to stay with their parents through the service. Clipboards with activities pertaining to the day’s lessons are available for young children to keep them engaged quietly during the “talking” parts of the service. Our worship style has been described by parishioners as relaxed, yet reverent. Some people dress up for services, but many wear casual clothes, including jeans and shorts. This service usually lasts about an hour.
At 6:00 p.m., there is a simple Eucharist with a short homily and no music.
On Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m., we have a small group that meets in the church for contemplative prayer followed by a short prayer service. Our labyrinth is also open and available for those that would like to walk it. We invite you to join us to experience the extraordinary sound of God in silence.
There are many meaningful opportunities to make a real difference in the worship service. Singing in the choir is one way to enhance worship, build relationships and realize personal growth. All singers are welcome to join this upbeat, fun group. Rehearsals are Thursday nights at 7:30.
Special Services
In addition to Holy Week, Easter and Christmas services, we celebrate the feasts of All Saints, Epiphany and Ascension in the evenings of their appointed days. This year we branched out by incorporating special music into several services, such as the blues played at one Lenten Vespers service and the jazz offered for the Feast of the Ascension. We are planning more evening music services in the months ahead.
