Celebrating Parish Life

Mardi Gras

St. Aidan’s annual Mardi Gras celebration begins with jazz musicians at our 10:30 a.m. worship service and culminates in fellowship and more jazz music over a meal of homemade jambalaya, beans and rice, and endless desserts. Join us next time!

Crab Fest

This annual gathering for good food, fellowship, and outreach funding marks the end of summer at St. Aidan’s. We order fresh steamed crabs from a local vendor and complete the meal with side dishes and desserts prepared by parishioners.  This event is a home-coming time for the community, a chance to enjoy a delicious shared meal and reconnect with our church family after our summer wanderings.  Proceeds from the event support the Whitman-Walker Health Center, which offers community-based health and wellness services to all, with a special expertise in LGBTQ and HIV care through locations throughout the District of Columbia.

Oktoberfest

Each October, members of St. Aidan’s church and St. Aidan’s Day School gather with family, friends, and the surrounding community to celebrate Oktoberfest on our grounds.  Beer, bratwurst and an oom-pah-pah band make for a festive event.  The Day School sponsors a Kinderfest with games, pumpkin decorating and other crafts, and hayrides that draw dozens of families from surrounding neighborhoods.
